Activities and Collaborations

ICE-SRM Armenia serves as a Center of Excellence dedicated to promoting responsible, data-driven, and inclusive management of Armenia’s mineral resources. Our work integrates scientific research, field expertise, policy engagement, and international collaboration to shape a new culture of mining—one rooted in transparency, sustainability, and social value.

We believe that effective resource governance is only possible when decisions are informed by accurate data, multidimensional analysis, and meaningful stakeholder participation. To that end, ICE-SRM Armenia operates across the following key areas:

🎓 Professional Education and Capacity Building

ICE-SRM Armenia organizes seminars, training programs, and workshops aimed at strengthening the skills of professionals, students, and community representatives. We foster knowledge exchange between academia and practice, and actively support the entry of young specialists into the field.

🏛️ Policy Engagement and Expert Advisory

We contribute to mining policy reform by providing expert analysis, recommendations, and advisory support to government agencies, private sector actors, and international partners. Our goal is to ensure that resource governance in Armenia is transparent, accountable, and aligned with global standards.

👥 Gender Inclusion and Community Engagement

Social equity is at the heart of our mission. We collaborate with FemMining NGO and other partners to promote women’s participation in mining and environmental sectors. ICE-SRM Armenia amplifies community voices and works to ensure that resource use reflects local needs, values, and aspirations.

🌍 International Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange

We actively participate in the work of UNECE, UNFC, and other global platforms—sharing Armenia’s experience, contributing to international dialogue, and building strategic partnerships. Our vision is to position Armenia as a regional leader in responsible resource management and innovation.

🔬 Data-Driven Research and Analysis

Our team develops tools and workflows that make resource dynamics visible and actionable—empowering evidence-based decision-making across sectors.

ICE-SRM Armenia is building an ecosystem where knowledge, participation, and accountability come together to advance sustainable resource governance—for people, for nature, and for future generations.
